Sophie Mills “Since I had been involved with MindLab as a Teacher and Training Manager, I knew first hand the benefits the curriculum provided to children, plus what enormous fun it was!  I enjoyed working with an educational programme that was structured but flexible, and with great people, so when my second child came along I wanted to continue working in a way that fitted in with my family life too.  That was when I and two other teachers decided to take on the running of the franchise ourselves. We work from home and have divided up the roles and responsibility between us with hours that suit.  Now I can be at home with my baby and enjoy doing an interesting and varied job too.”

“I decided to buy a MindLab franchise because it was something so very different to all the other structured learning programmes which are out there. I really wanted to get my own children involved because it just seemed so exciting.

Operating a franchise is something totally new to me, so I was conscious that I may need a lot of help. MindLab Europe Ltd has been very supportive every step of the way, always offering advice and supplying us with lots of information on what works best. I feel confident that I can contact MindLab Europe Ltd about any issue and they will support me all the way.

I find the curriculum very exciting with extremely well thought out games. The lesson plans are so clear that even someone with little or no teaching experience could teach the lesson.

I have found headteachers, teachers, secretaries and caretakers in the schools all really helpful. They make the MindLab teachers feel very welcome in their schools.

I regularly assist the MindLab teachers and enjoy every minute of it. What can be difficult about playing a few games with the children?

“We bought our franchise so as to be able to quickly set up our own business, but more importantly for us, to start working and teaching together. Linda had been a full-time teacher and I had worked for many years in business. We felt that we would be a good partnership with complimentary expertise.

We both wanted to be front line teachers, even though for just 1 –2 hours per day.

We are free to teach and use the MindLab detailed lesson plans and game materials, to interact with and guide children through the different curricula. It’s great fun for us, and for the children.

Once tasted, it’s a compelling offer and we have had great fun starting schools and recruiting children with lots of success. There are so many schools to go on to that there is no shortage of opportunity.

There are no reports to write and no burden of planning and administration to get through. When parents do comment, it is always favourable and gives little moments of joy!”
